Finding Solutions for Reducing Greenhouse Gas Emission
The average methane emission of a cow corresponds in its long-term climate impact to the CO2 emission of a passenger car. In terms of the short- and medium-term climate impact of the greenhouse gases emitted, one cow even corresponds to up to five passenger cars. Initial studies indicate that methane production in the bovine rumen can be very effectively reduced by feed additives.
